Cooking

Every campsite needs cooking gear. Some consider using a stove while on a expedition  blasphemous, but those of us who've camped in no burn zones can see their importance. Whatever the case, portable stove, or campfire, you're gonna need outdoor cooking gear that can take the heat. A good propane camping stove or portable travel grill makes preparing heated meals a blast at a campsite, on the back of a truck, or even in a cabin.  Of course, there has to be a good deal of eating around a campsite too, but gear for that purpose is on another page.

aluminun mess kit

Coleman Aluminum Mess Kit

This is a five piece cooking set at a very affordable price. While it may not look like much, the set includes everything one person needs for cooking around a campsite; an eight ounce aluminum cup, a six inch plate, a 7.5 inch frying pan and and 16 ounce lidded pot that all fits together for storage. It initially may seem a bit light and flimsy, but this set proves to be very effective at cooking meals; and very easy to clean afterward. Unfortunately the set does get a bit hot while heating food, so it would be advisable to use a mitt or towel, otherwise its a great portable mess kit.
